Für nur einen Tag hat Maria Hinze ein Dach aus Baumwollstoff in der Berliner Bar25 aufgebaut und mit einer großflächigen Zeichnung bedeckt. Die Konstruktion dieses Zeltdaches ist einfach und scheint provisorisch: Von mehreren Holzpfählen gestützt, spannt sich der helle Stoff über den Köpfen der Besucher. Wände gibt es keine, dennoch erinnert das Dach an ein Nomadenzelt, dass sich schnell auf- und abbauen sowie leicht und kompakt transportieren lässt. Die Ausdehnung dieses Zeltes bleibt variabel und ließe sich ganz unterschiedlichen örtlichen Gegebenheiten anpassen.
Die Unterseite des so schwebenden Stoffes hat Hinze mit einer abstrakten Zeichnung bedeckt, die mit Ihren Formen und Linien eine Struktur schafft die mit ihrer variantenreichen Bewegtheit in einen Dialog mit der gleichmäßigen Bespannung tritt, die gleichwohl mal konvex und mal konkav erscheint.
Durch ihre Zeichnung feiner, dunkler Linien auf hellem Grund hat Hinze bei früheren Interventionen die Zweidimensionalität der Wände von Ausstellungsräumen aufgebrochen und so Bildträger geschaffen, die das Statische einer Architektur zu ignorieren schienen. Die zarten Linien schaffen bewusst keine Tiefe sondern einen Rhythmus, der keinen Anfang hat und kein Ende. Es ist ein ausuferndes, grenzenloses Gespinst von Formen, die die Assoziation weiterer Formen, neuer Körper evozieren.
Der Gedanke an Mensch und Natur und an das Nomadentum erschließt sich aus dem Zelt als traditionelle Behausung von wandernden Völkern und ist wie die Ausstellung selbst, ein flüchtiger Ort des Schutzes vor Witterung, der Begegnung und des raumbezogenen Bildträgers.

Maria Hinze–Exhibition at bar25, Berlin
For only a single day, Maria Hinze spanned a cotton fabric in Berlin’s bar25 and covered it with a sprawling drawing. The construction of the tarp is simple and seems provisional: Supported by several wooden stakes, the light material stretches over the heads of the visitors. There are no walls. This structure is evocative of nomadic tents which can be erected and disassembled quickly and can be transported lightly and easily. The dimensions of the tent remain variable and can be adapted to diverse local conditions.
Hinze has covered the underside of the floating fabric with an abstract drawing. With its many variants of emotive forms and lines, it creates a structure that enters into a dialog with the even surface, making it appear sometimes convex, sometimes concave.
By drawing fine dark lines on a bright surface, Hinze broke up the two-dimensionality of the walls of exhibition spaces in her earlier interventions. She created image carriers that seem to ignore the static elements of architecture. The delicate lines consciously refuse to create depth, but they create a pattern that has neither beginning nor end. It is an escalating and boundless weaving of forms that evokes an association of even further forms and new structures.
A thought of humans and nature and of nomadism develops from the tent as representing the traditional housing of wandering people. It is like the exhibition itself an evanescent space of protection from atmospheric conditions, from the encounter and a spatially related image carrier.
